The persuasive essay

A persuasive essay is where the writer try to convince the reader to think something or to take a certain action; the writer use arguments to achieve these objectives.

Let's talk about your outline

Your outline must count with 3 main parts: introduction, body and conclusion.

Introduction:

  • Grab the reader's attention by using a "hook"
  • Some background og the topic
  • Your thesis statement
                Thesis statement:
Subject:  what are you going to talk about.
Conflict: why are you writing about it.
                            Opinion: your position.
  • The 3 main points that you are going to talk about.
Body paragraphs:
  • Each body paragraph will defend an idea.
  • Support each one with research.

Conclusion:
  • Restate your ideas and defend your thesis statement. This is your last chance to persuade the reader.
πŸ“ When you finish your essay it is important to have a second opinion so, ask a friend or a classmate to read your final product in order to receive feedback.

🌼🌼🌼🌼

We use the first two topics in our daily life but some people didn't know their names, in fact I didn't know! Those topics seems to be easy but I need to be careful because they are tricky topics.
The persuasive essay is going to be our first essay in this course, the last semester we wrote one. I understand the structure but I'm nervous to write the essay by myself. 😟
